History
Founded in Istanbul in 1957 by Oktay Demirağ, Altınboğa began manufacturing original spare parts for various brands in the automotive industry in 1965 at its 3,500 m² production facility located on the shores of the Halic.
Between 1970 and 1979, Altınboğa focused on the development of diesel engines and passenger vehicles. With a team of 250 employees, the company developed vehicles in two different categories and diesel engines in four different power ranges.
In the 1990s, Altınboğa produced Türkiye’s first 100% locally manufactured commercial vehicle, equipping its vehicles with diesel engines developed and manufactured in-house from the prototype stage onward. Building on its proprietary technology and extensive engineering expertise, Altınboğa became the sole authorized distributor in Türkiye for Kubota Corporation’s liquid-cooled, multi-cylinder internal combustion engines in 1996. Kubota Corporation was founded in Osaka, Japan, in 1890.
Holding an important place in the history of the Turkish automotive industry, Altınboğa’s first diesel engines are still exhibited in selected industrial history museums in Türkiye as significant milestones in the country’s industrial heritage.
Today, Altınboğa continues to provide Original Equipment Manufacturers operating in Türkiye’s generator, industrial equipment, and construction machinery sectors with Kubota diesel engines, delivering power solutions focused on quality, efficiency, durability, and performance.
